Hi all. Any help with this would be appreciated.
I have installed 2x RB912 (basebox 5)as a PtP link - Side A connected to a Huawei router (client supplied and managed) and Side B connected to an HP switch. The wireless signal is good at around -50dBm and with Mikrotik bandwidth test from radio A to radio B, I get up to 100Mbps.
The problem I am experiencing is, when I do the bandwidth test, it runs for a few seconds and then loose connection to the near device (and obviously the far device). I am also running a continuous ping to both sides and those packets drop for around 10 seconds. I can see the wireless stays registerd and neither radio reboots - it’s just the packets to and from the ethernet that drops. Both sides are setup as a bridge with eth and wlan assigned to the bridge. When plugging directly into my laptop, the problem goes away, but Im sure it doesnt rule out the mikrotik being at fault.
What I have tried:
Replaced POE injector.
Replaced RB912
Replaced UTP cable to Unit
Installed basic gigabit netgear switch between router and injector
I have read another forum that suggests turning off flow control on the router my equipment is connected to - Have tried this, but has not helped.
Setup a queue to queue the traffic to 100Mbps
Set the Ethernet to only negotiate on 100Mbps or lower
None of that seemed to have helped.
Any suggestions will be appreciated as Im sure it is just a configuration that is missing or needs to be changed.
Thanks
Darryl
