I need help on a new tower. I have a old tower using a 532 current firmware 2.8 upgradeable to 2.9 the version on winbox shows 2.9.46

I have it connected with an Ethernet cable running down the tower to a switch and back up the tower to a RB411a with an XR9 card in it. it’s version is 3.22 on winbox
the model is 411a and the firmware is 2.16 upgradable to 2.20

the problem is the speed on Ethernet. I hooked my laptop up to the switch and ran bandwidth test to each RB. to the 411 I get about 1 mb up and down to the 532 I get less than 1 mb down and 4mb or higher up. I have both set to 100 full duplex

In the shop I have another RB411a setup and i get 75 mb up and 35 down that is much better than the other one in use. both were bought at same time and have never been used.

it looks like I will have to climb the tower and replace the RB411 box. but I still have the rb532 not running fast on tx.

what can I do?

would upgrading the software on the 532 help it?

I need to Clarify the above post. The tower is my original tower. The 532 is old but the 411 was just put up this month. the 532 has 3 wireles cards two for 5 gh backhauls and 1 for 2.4 gh for customers. The 411 is used for 900 mh with an XR9 card. It is hooked up to the 532 by way of the poe on both RB’s. So the ethernet cables run down 100 feet and connect to a switch the poe injectors.

I have changed the switch and the injectors and the ethernet cables between switch and poe’s. The 2 long ethernet cables going up to the boxes were replace earlier this month when the rb411 box was installed.

it’s a little chance to have oxide on that rb … or one of your cable to be defective from factory …
i think you have to climb your tower.

Suscess! I upgraded software on the AP (RB411a) and the CPE to 3.30 and ethernet speeds are fine.
