Ethernet - Rx Length Error

Good day.

Can someone please explain what does: Rx Length Error mean, under the ethernet rx stats section…

Got a NetMetal connected to a Mikrotik 24 Port Switch, and getting continuous rx length error on the netmetal unit it, tried with another mikrotik switch, same result.

Both either link’s @ 1Gig full dup.

Any advice will be much appreciated.

Thanks!

Foo… I was hoping to find an answer here to the same question, but unfortunately no one has answered it.

I had this problem today and found an avoidance for it… maybe something in my posting will help you out.

Check/swap poe and data cables, if problem persist check/replace poe cable.

the ethernet porty is in bridge or switch?
I got the same problem whet the port was in the switch, i changed everything so lats thing was changing config.
I put all ports in the bridge - problem gone.

That’s bizarre. If you check out my posting, I was having this problem on a bridged port… I made the problem go away by moving the cable to a port that ran off the switch chip. That’s exactly the opposite of what you found. Clearly something here is amiss.

Did you see the errors on the crs site or on the pluged device site? I Did not record any errors on the crs ports. Everything was on the pluged do devices site (such as sxt or sextants)

In my case, the errors were on the roof CPE (a 912, I think). No errors on the hAP.
