VTS means Virus Trojan Spyware
This list seems to mostly be ads and adult content sites. How is this designed to stop viruses? More and more we are seeing drive-by downloads hosted on throw-away sites or legitimate sites which have been hacked. Do these sites also host the command & control channels for some botnets? Where did this list come from?
I have always had an issue with “static” virus lists because people tend to not update them and they change daily. For my users looking at this functionality, we usually turn to something like OpenDNS. Just redirect all DNS traffic to the Mikrotik, have the mikrotik use OpenDNS as its resolvers, and set OpenDNS to block malware and phishing traffic. OpenDNS updates its lists daily without you having to change anything in your router.
This list is actually NOT VTS protection. It just blocks user access to some ad webpages, it’s not stopping one virus, trojan or spyware. Please don’t misinform the forum!
that is true it blocks some ad webpages known for infecting people with viruses and spywares and on some porn websites it injects trojans.

it may block websites that can infect computers, but it doesn’t block the viruses/trojans and spyware themselves.
