Execute function help

I am trying to write a probe that will run a script,or program upon the network connecting.

Can somebody point me in the right direction or show an example?

Thanks
Greg

  1. Create a new Notification of type ‘Execute locally’ or ‘Execute on server’ that runs your program or script and test it (i.e. set it to go off when some ping service on a device goes down and turn off that device).

  2. Create a new Probe that tests your network connecting (find some way, maybe use SNMP to read out the status of a router/switch port, ping some device on the other side of the network connection, etc.)

  3. Combine 1 & 2 et voila!

thanks winkleman that was simple!

Hello,

Is it possible to have a list of ‘email server’ fonctionning correctly with Dude?

Here the answer which I have when I pass by the server in my company
With Wireshark (Ethereal):
-reponse : 220 … Microsoft ESMTP Mail Service Version 6.0.3790.2499

-reponse : 454 5.7.3 Client does not have permission to submit mail to this server

When i use QK SMTP server (location : same Dude server)
my dude config server config > general > Primary SMTP = (my @)
From = dude@some.domain.com

Notifications > Envoy par Email > Server = (my @)

When i launch test reply is ok good but have problem whit SMTP server.
i don’t creat particulary configuration my delivery re deliver directly to recipients (default)
Server repply 3548 New mail received from dude@some.domain.com to …
Message from dude@some.domain.com to … direct delivery fail! resolve host error

Anyone have a suggestion?

Es tu francais? Si oui pouvons nous prendre contact?

Non, je ne suis pas francias, mais je parle francais un peut.

Hello,

Et pouvons nous prendre contact? Can we contact by email? :unamused:

Sure, I can be reached at my last name followed by @okura.nl

on a side note, can you change the from dude@some.domain.com? I have not been able to find it, and it is catching spam filters on our exchange server, and I would rather not have it catch it..

To change the dude to your domain name log into the web page and select settings…
