Dear All,

I’m studying MT forum for approximate 1 and half a year. Now I’ve start my WISP project that’s why I need Expert Advice.
Please help me the regarding issues…

I want to use RB1100AHX2 as my principal router to manage approximately 100 PPPoE and 200 Hotspot client both are using Mikrotik Usermanager Radius Server. 3 X Basebox 5 with 120 degree 16dbi Sector Antenna as Access Point for the PPPoE Client and 4X Metal 2SHPn with 14db Omni as Hotspot Access Point to cover 200 Square Miter Park Radius with perfect LOS. For the PPPoE Clients distance between 1 to 8km radius around my AP, I want to use SXT Lite5 and SEXTANT G 5HPnD CPE. Now my questions are…

  1. Am I on the right track?

  2. If I’m on the right track, How can I connect 3X Basebox 5 AP to the router? As RB1100AHX2 has 13Gbit Ethernet port, Do I need to make bridge on 3 Ethernet ports (e.g ether2, ether3, ether4 out of 13 ports of RB1100AHX2) on a single PPPoE server with the same SSID on each AP or anything else?

  3. I wanna Connect single Metal 2SHPn as Hotspot Server’s AP on ether5 and the other 3 Metal 2SHPn will be connecting in WDS mood to each other.

  4. Is it possible for Mikrotik Usermanager on RB1100AHX2 is capable of serving all the PPPoE and Hotspot users together as it has only 1066MHz Dual Core CPU and 2GB of Ram.

  3. Spend more time researching and planning/testing/make your own lab. You could do that, but WDS isn’t the most efficient way of distributing coverage.

  4. It sounds all good and well, but I think there are more things to check afaik, before spending $£$£. More advanced users of this forum know best and I would would ask for more advice before going ahead.
