explanation of LOG messages

Is there any documentation of the explanation of the messages that appear in en log…??

for example, what does this mean?

wlan1: data from unknown device 00:0E:2E:54:EF:77, sent deauth

Well…:

wlan1: interface

data from unknown device 00:0E:2E:54:EF:77: the data from device with that mac address is unknow or not valid…

sent deauth: it not authorized to authenticate, so its rejected…

I think they are pretty much selfexplainded…

Best regards…

see this is exactly why the log messages are often NOT useful in terms of detail…i get this ALL THE TIME..and the explination above makes perfect logical sense…but i get these messages from many different client (laptop) mac address on many different APs and NONE of them use or require any encryption or authentication of any kind…

how is somethign not authrized, if EVERYTHING is authorized

When you say DATA FROM UNKNOWN DEVICE…
does it means that someone with this mac is trying to connect to my AP?

i get this message (“wlan1: data from unknown device 00:0E:2E:54:EF:77, sent deauth”) everyday, avery 10 minutes… so I decided to put this MAC into my access-list… but MT still putting this message into log.

is my english clear? do you understand what ¡'m saying?

I thing is yes, that client is not in ACCESS LIST and they tryed to connect to your AP. for more information about your Router, you can use ‘/system logging’ and select ‘action’ to that logging.
