Extended interface statistics on x86

Mikrotik support,

The “Overall Stats”, “RX Stats”, and “TX Stats” tabs on interface on RB7xx and RB1xxx boards is extremely useful.

What are the chances of this feature be implemented on x86 ?

I think by supporting this feature on Intel Pro1000/x520 and Broadcom NetExtreme chipsets you would cover the vast majority of x86 users.

Yes, please make it working for x86.

We need this too.

AFAIK statistics need to be added to each and every driver and
AFAIK MikroTik takes those drivers directly from Linux Kernel without modification.

I do not think this feature request will go trough for 2 reasons:
a) there are too many drivers out there - so too much work
b) By modifying drivers MT will cut possibility to update drivers in easy way when there are changes in Linux Kernel drivers

Right thing to do is to bother manufacturers of original Linux Kernel drivers to add those features, and then just ask MT to update those new drivers from Kernel.

They dont need to modify every driver. Just e1000, ixgbe and bnx2, as that will cover almost all x86 installs.

Anyone using Realtek does not deserve statistics

I think nz_monkey is right.
