extender won't connect - somewhat solved

I have a RB951Ui-2HnD running 7.12.1. I tried to connect a Linksys and a TP-link to it. Neither would connect, even if I set them with static IP addresses. When I google this, I get posts saying that you can’t mix brands. But these extenders work with any other router! I tried attaching the supout.rif, and it wouldn’t let.

Posting supout file to forum won’t help, only MT support can read and interpret those files, the rest of us are lacking necessary tools.

However, you can check logs on RB951 and copy-paste here anything mentioning wireless.

You could try turning off spanning tree protocol on the bridge of the RB951Ui-2HnD, it sometimes helps.

Thank you. I watched the log, and when a laptop connected it showed it, but absolutely nothing showed up for the extender struggling to connect and giving up.

Thank you, but STP protocol on the bridge interface page was already set to “none”.

I tried a freshly reset router of the same router and it connected. So somewhere along the way of playing around with my router to get it the way I like it, I hit some setting that blocks extenders, because other stuff connected.
