I have had issues with my router dropping wifi and accidentally disabled it which prevented my accessing the settings. I tried to reset the settings by holding reset for 5 secs but I still can’t access the wifi. The router just sits with a blue power LED and some signal leds. I have tried access via ethernet by connecting to my computer but it does not seem to assign the correct ip thus I can’t access 192.168.88.1
Can anyone explain how I can gain access to the router to via ethernet so I can get my wifi working. Or is there a way to factory reset and I will start over.
Have you tried connecting to it via its mac address through Winbox? Also when factory resetting a mikrotik you have to unplug it from the power, hold the reset button, plug the power cable back in while continuing to hold the reset button down. The reset button does more that just reset depending on how many seconds you push it down for. Its also used to enable caps mode, setup for netinstall and to load the backup boot.
Can you first try if winbox using ethernet works ? Not using ethernet port 1.
It should be visible in Neighbors.
If that works, you can get in that way without having to reset all config.
If going for factory reset:
Depending on device, initial access is to be done using wifi (default SSID Mikrotik-vwxyz ).
I’m guessing we are talking about hAP AC3 or Audience here ?
But first you need to properly use factory reset as described above.
Ok I managed to get access to the router via winbox.
I am trying to restore wifi. I noticed that it states in the interfaces that it is managed byCAPsMAN. How do I reset the wireless or removed this. I tried quick start but it still has not helped.
I did get to capsman and manager but it was not enabled?
How can I reset the wireless as it is showing on interfaces but light is not on and none of my devices can see the wifi? Is it a setup issue or hardware issue?
Is it possible to reset the router and start again?
