Failing to set up station bridge for a mikrotik router

My main router at home is a RB4011iGS+5HacQ2HnD-IN. I recently bought another mikrotik router (hAP ax2 US Version C52iG-5HaxD2HaxD-TC-US).

I’m trying to set up the hAP ax2 router as a station bridge. From the interface stats, it seems that I was able to successfully connect to the main router via its wifi. However, I’m not able to ping my gateway on the main router from the hAP ax2 router. My guess is that although connected, there are no real traffic going through the wifi connection.

I did a lot of searches on the internet, but failed to find a solution to fix it. I noticed someone mentioned it’s probably because that the main router is using the wireless driver, while the hAP ax2 router has the wifi-qcom driver. Is that the problem? Or is this because of something else?

Different MT wireless/wifi generations are not compatible when it comes to station-bridge mode. In your case I assume you’re running legacy wireless driver on RB4011 not to loose your 2.4GHz radio and you have wifi-qcom on hAP ax2 because wireless driver doesn’t support AX radios. You can try to set hAP ax2 into station-pseudobridge mode … it has some drawbacks, but at least it should work between your two devices.
