Failover connection/configuration?

Is it possible to configure my RB500 series (v2.9.50, need to upgrade soon to 3.x) to be able to automatically switch to another connection when one goes down? The RB500 has three eth ports. We’re using one to a VSAT, one to the LAN, and the third one is not used. We have an ADSL line that we’d like to use as a failover connection. Is this possible?

I’m fairly new to MR, but I don’t mind trying things out. Part of the problem is that I don’t even know where to begin. Just point me in the right direction!

Thanks!

Could it really be that simple?!

I’ll have a go at it tomorrow (leaving early today), and I’ll see if it works.

Hmm… I think it might be a bit more complicated, since our VSAT connection is static and our ADSL is DHCP, plus we have different DNS servers for both connections (completely different continents for the ground stations). But still, this is interesting!

Thanks!

Edit: it looks like “failover” is the keyword I should have been searching for. I’ll do some more Googling tomorrow.
