I just purchased a Mikrotik AP ac Lite for my office. I have it configured as an AP Bridge (pass through to building’s router). Every device I’ve tried is able to successfully connect to the AP the first time. However, no tested device is not able to subsequently reconnect after a disconnection event occurs. The only case where I’ve managed to reconnect is by completely erasing all record of the AP from the client device and then reestablishing it. I figured it might be a hardware issue; we replaced it to no avail.
I’ve tried this with an Asus router (set to AP-Bridge mode), and multiple Ubiquiti APs and all worked seamlessly. What might the problem be with the Mikrotiks?
This happens to me too, but not consistently. Once in awhile a device won’t reconnect until I clear that SSID from cache and reconnect. I didn’t look into it. Try turning on extra logs for wifi and see what the logs show. I’ve given up on Mikrotik for office wireless solutions.
I also have one wifi cient with an Android smartphone. He can happily connect with our old Wifi access points and the client will reconnect without any problems. But reconnecting fails with Mikrotik access points. He has to connect to the SSID manually. But when he disables Wifi and enables it, the smartphone will not autoconnect to the Mikrotik access point. This only happens with the Mikrotik device. Both have the same SSID with the same features enabled (i.e. WPA2-Enterprise, …)
Did you or any other one find a solution for this?
