Hello guys.
I’m just wondering if I can except one of my traffic come from computer to my Server.
I’m using Hotspot. I share my ESET Antivirus signature database on my server and my clients will update themselves from Server.
So My Hotspot will count them “DOWNLOAD” and We get paid for this fake download. and I call this fake because they are not downloaded from Internet but they are downloaded from Server and cost us nothing.
So is there anyway I mark this connections and show my hotspot server not to count this fake download or not?
Thanks in advance.
Bump…
If there is no answer just tell me.
???
I assume that your accounting is looking at tx bytes / rx bytes reported by the mikrotik whenever a session closes.
As far as I know, there is no way to classify this further or to configure “ignore hosts in stats tracking.”
The only solution that I can think of would be to collect netflow data and to make some type of report from that which shows users downloading from this server, and then to modify the customer’s bill (show it as a credit or something).
I have zero actual experience with netflows, though, so unfortunately I cannot give any further advice.
Thank you for your reply my friend.
Yes. I’m looking for exception of counting data. It seems it’s impossible. ![]()
Here’s what I found, maybe someone know it. just for the records:
I was looking for exception of counting data. It’s easy (e.g. exception of calculating in share folders and drives in windows)
just walled garden the specified port for example for this kind of work I walled ground ports 139 & 445 so that in addition of not needing authenticating there would be no calculating.
I hope this would help others who work in businesses like me
