fallback partition

I have a RB951G with two partitions. Both partitions have set fallback-to=next. According to manual this setting defines what to do if active partition fails to boot.

Now the question: does event router was rebooted without proper shutdown count as failure at booting? Is it expected that unit boots into stand-by partition after such event? I’d expect that if device runs for certain time (say a few hours) and then reboots (for any reason), then this would not count as boot failure …

Anybody?

When the router boots it uses the active partition, if that fails then it tries the next partition. That is all it does.

My question specifically targeted this: does power failure (occuring after long uptime) count as boot failure?
