Fan Error on CRS326-4C+20G+2Q+RM

Hi.

I am having a little trouble with one of my Switches.

while Idle the Switch reported a phy-temp of 65°C (max Fan Temp is 65 by default) running its Fans around 6000rpm. The issue came back to badly applied Thermal Paste. now i am back to 55°C and 1300 RPM.

However, while Troubleshooting i was expreimenting with adding a third fan (The switch has an unused Fan-Header inside), resulting in only minor improvements, so i removed it again. now i am getting a Fan-Fail Error because of a Fan not spinning which shouldn’t exist in the first place.
The error persists over multiple Up/Downgrades both via GUI and Netinstall. The Terminal command
/system/health> detect-fans

which according to the Forum used to exist only results in a bad command name detect-fans

Any way to reset or retrain the Fan controller? Any way of disabling the Fan?

every Idea is appreciated

the command should be (CaSe SeNsItIvE)
/system health detect-fans

but the easiest to check is using [TAB] autocompletion, that will show if the command exists, i.e.:

/system [ENTER]
hea [TAB] (should autocomplete to /system health) [ENTER]
det [TAB] (should autocomplete to detect-fans if the command exists] [ENTER]

yes that is what i tried.
/system/health> detect-fans
results in
bad command name detect-fans (line 1 column 1)

it also does not autocomplete the detect-fans

tried via terminal in WinBox (both 3.43 and 4.0).
does this command only work via ssh or console?
was it removed and if so, is there a replacement?

and sorry for the bad formatting. i am new here.

Try with "settings":

Syntax seemingly changed around 7.8-7.9.

thank you very very much. that did it.

I am not sure how i never came across that thread.

/system/health/settings detect-fans
works and clears the error.

Good :slightly_smiling_face:.

What is perplexing is that both the old and new syntax are seemingly missing in the official documentation at:
