Fan or HeatSink is more suitable for the R5H card....

We found the R5H card is very hot…
Anyone have try using heatsink or the fan to make it in the acceptable temperature?

How do you know it’s not already “in the acceptable temperature?”
Did you measure it? Did you read the specs?

As understanding from the friend who in the electronic firm.
They told me the heat of the hardware or IC acceptable range is, when u finger touch that heatsink, you can feel it’s warm but not very hot.

Our R5h card it’s very hot, and even i wanna take it off, i have to wait for few minutes.
I think this should called un-acceptable right?

Hope to have you sharing…

mine R5H is cold…use ventilated or metal box

I have used that brand of metal box that Inox uses. They are made in Malaysia by CVS so they should be nice and cheap for you!!!

See http://www.cvsenclosure.com/

angboontiong - that is the most profesional way to check temperature that I’ve heard of. - im my world we put sensors for that and fans to avoid overheating.

inoX - that’s a daddy mate but aren’t you using too long Rf cables? - obviously I can’t see the rest.

2-3m pigtails…no problem.

Here is what the specs say:
Industrial Operation temp. : -40~+80 degrees C

is 80 degrees the point when if you touch it, is warm but not very hot?
couldn’t help it

Cheers,
Steven

at 80 degrees you could erase your fingerprints for some time
