New feature starting from 6.0rc2

ipv4 fast path - it doubles ipv4 forwarding performance on supported interfaces when no firewall, conntrack, queues.

how will VPLS en/de-capsulation be treated by fastpath?

  1. will all traffic passing through a router with VPLS tunnels configured be non-fastpath?
  2. will only traffic through the VPLS-interface be non-fastpath?
  3. will all traffic including the traffic of the VPLS-interface be fastpath?

Currently MPLS fast-path applies only to MPLS switched traffic (frames that enter router as MPLS and must leave router as MPLS) - MPLS ingress and egress (including VPLS tunnel endpoints that do VPLS encap/decap) will operate as before.
