Faster ATX hardware

Hi,

We currently have a P4/3.0ghz with dual GigE ports (one onboard, one PCI-X Intel server card) acting as our edge router. We are starting to see CPU spikes up to 50% during our peak times (150Mbps of total traffic passing thru the box). We have 6-7 queues and static routing.

What are the recommendations for a faster systemboard and CPU to handle more traffic?

you have to worry if normal load of that routers is about 80% - 90%

now - your hardware just runs as it should

if you expect rapid network growth in near future (1 month) you can start thinking of something more powerful.
