yes, in a few months such product will be available.
How faster CPU ?
2-3x faster
faster than RB532?
yes!
Will they support the 564 daughterboard? I need to buy a 532/564 now but need the faster CPU in a couple of months.
some of the new boards will support the daughterboards
Great
2 - 3x faster?
Humm
So is that answer something like this?
rb532 over clocked to 400mhz x 2 = 800mhz
rb532 stock speed 266mhz x 3 = 798mhz
Wow! Now the new POE standard will be PWCOE (Power Water Cooling Over Ethernet). ![]()
Probably a smaller silicon process, 1/4 off the wavelength generally yields 1/2 the size and 2x the speed with the same power consumption(heat).
as apple would say … think different ![]()
I’m hoping you guys could produce xscale systems ![]()
thank you
400Mhz is plenty of MIPS cpu, and 32MB is plenty of RAM. What I want to see is a beefier power supply with more mini PCI slots!
Rather than having a ton of CPU power (more is nice, but IMO 400Mhz is plenty), what we need is more power supply capacity and more mini-PCI slots.
Ideally I’d like to see a board with a ~400Mhz cpu, 32 or 64MB ram, and capable of supporting 3-4 XR2 cards ![]()
I smell an Intel system on chip solution..
Check the recent press from intel about a P4 based system on chip…
I have NO inside info. Just thinking along the “Apple” line, and putting 2 and 2 together…

well months have passed since the initial announcement of faster chips and I have a multisite ptp project that has been brewing since then. I was hoping to use the faster mt boards but it seems I will be stuck with 532s, it is time to put in my purchase order.

if you read the forum carefully, you will see that we are presenting new fast routerboards in USA MUM in a few weeks.
Those damn Americans get to see all the good stuff first. LOL

MUM Nigeria is in a few weeks. Unless you have overclocked the calendar. USA MUM is a month and a half away.
I am looking for more throughput. I am hoping that 2x cpu will give us that. Or are the bottlenecks in software?
