FC5 and the Dude

Well, so far I am unable to get The Dude to run properly under wine in Fedora Core 5. I have the latest in everything. It will start, but I have to go to use the file browser to find the .exe to start it. Using connect to remote and 127.0.0.1 it connects to the server. If I run a scan, it shows scanning but returns nothing. Nothing is displayed on the map and if I click network it shows 0 for items found.
If I run the Dude on a windoze box I can connect to it from my FC5 box and display the network. Any ideas why I can’t get it to detect on the FC5 box?

Thanks

Note that you have to be running Dude server with root permissions.

Didn’t think of that. Yep it runs as root. Change the fonts to get text to show up or show correctly and it works. I find it is pretty slow under FC5 when trying to make changes to it though.
