Hi,
there are tons of lists out there, making it possible to block unwanted content. Unwanted because parents don’t want their kids to see porn or elder people to fall for a scam or the usual malware, phishing pages.
But the big players here like Pihole or Adguard switched to the so called ABP format for their blocklists, making it possible to block all subdomains as well.
For example:
||malware.com^ blocks malware.com and every possible subdomain like www.malware.com, virus.malware.com or phishing.malware.com. The bad players are rotating their subdomains knowing, it is hard for exact blocking to catch up. But with the ABP formatting, you can block all subdomains at once.
Because of that, all Blocklist maintainers switched to ABP rendering those list for Mikrotik users useless. Now a Pihole user ist protected because malware.com is blocked completely, but the Mikrotik user is still at risk if the malware was located at virus.malware.com.
So my feature request woud be: Any chance of Mikrotik adapting the ABP-Format or like DNSMASQ having all subdomains blocked as well by default?
Thx for reading.
Greetings.
