Feature request - Allow Simple Queue Interface = !WAN

As allowed in the Mangle settings, it would be nice to allow the interface field in a simple queue to be set to “Not” an interface, i.e., !WAN. The reason for this is I would like to be able to create a parent queue for multiple internal interfaces that limits those interfaces to the total available internet bandwidth. As I understand it, you cannot currently do this.

The simple queue setup change would also have to allow the queue configured for a particular interface to have as its parent the queue mentioned above. Then, you could have simple queues for each user that were linked to the interface queue.

Under the current simple queue configuration, the only way I think I can accomplish this is to have only one internal interface and one WAN interface.

The other option is to use the queue tree, but based on my testing and understanding this would require much more work in configuring and maintaining. You have to create 4 mangle statements for each user, a “mark packet” and “mark connection” for both downstream and upstream traffic. Then you have to create two entries in the queue tree for each user, one for downstream traffic and one for upstream.

Let me know if I am missing something.

Similar feeling with me too.

I have Mikrotik router with 4 interfaces. One for WAN connected to my ISP and 3 others for my lan’s.
They told me to limit total rate for Internet (upload+download) to 512 kb/s on my router but only thing that I have suceeded to imagine was to have one more router in front of this one with 2 interfaces (one interface connected to Internet and one interface connected to Mikrotik router).

Is there some simple solution to limit total rate for one interface?
