Feature request: BGP additional path propagation

Hi,

This feature is very useful for many things, read the document below. Cisco implemented it and many operators is using it.

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/ios-xml/ios/iproute_bgp/configuration/xe-3s/irg-additional-paths.html

Can we hope to have it in at least ROS7?

Cheers and thnx, Jan Zorz

Agreed. This would be very useful.

This is interesting - do you have any links that show examples of how this feature improves converge times?

As I understand it, this option is primarily used to pass on a hop count as prefixes are exchanged on their way to route reflectors and ensures traffic follows a predictable path. Without this the route reflectors would collapse active-active routes and only send on one route to other routers.

Surprised Miktotik haven’t implemented this, need it to route traffic symmetrically on active/active customer BGP peering sessions.
