Thanks for the suggestion. You can already do this by setting log entry count to “1” and then back to “1000”. This will clear logs.
The command is not more obvious, I agree. On the other hand, if somebody would log in with your password, you would not want them to clear the logs, you would want to know all activity of any potential security breach.
I’m not sure you could rely on any “half-wanna-be-secure-like” feature on a device if someone can login as administrator, right?
The “state of art” practice about log management is to send them to a remote syslog server anyway that an intruder/impostor can’t alter.
Yes, and in that case, you also don’t need any “clear logs” feature, or you could do it on the remote device.
