Feature Request: L2TPv3 Client

Hi

We need srfc2661/rfc3931 support for the L2TPv3 Client in MikroTik (Support for a shared secret)
This would allow us to get a static IP from our ISP`s. Currently we have to buy different Routers (Billion and Zyxel) to support this.
When can we expect this functionality from MikroTik ?

(This Topic if so MikroTik can see there a real need for this. Please respond this topic even if it is just “+1” )

Yup,

This would be really useful!

Yep, I too would like this feature.

This would definitely be a great feature and add value to RouterOS.

I have the exact same problem

Could we Please have this feature included in a next release?

I need this for more than one implementation already.

Hi, in great need of this!

Any update on this? I need it as well.

Yip - One more querying … on behalf of 53 Mikrotik routers !

Has anyone at MikroTik taken notice of this request ?

We need an answer as we are already replacing MikroTik routers with ZyXEL’s

This would help me tremendously and prevent having buying other makes of routers instead of the CoudCore which I have just bought.

Seriously Mikrotik, implement this already, we need it here in SA.

This functionality has now been requested for years… I heard that Mikrotik only thinks 2 people have asked for this and that is so far from the truth from what my searches have revealed…

Mikrotik… implement this already many people are looking for this?

L2TP server with authentication

VPDN/LAC/LNS

Yes Please implement.

I have just come across this post while trying to solve the problem caused by this missing feature.

Bumping it in the hopes that this is on the way soon.

+1 for L2TPv3

It is miraculous how all the dormant forum users just waked up to write something in this topic

Could you all be so kind and be more precise where and in what configurations are you planing to use it?

some providers tend to use “very weird”, substandard things in endpoint/last mile.
like say one of French providers(not smallest one, btw), some Algrerian ISP and some companies in Pacific and Centeral America.
just like historically in Ruissa it was ~ same few years ago, when nearly 90% ISP used heavy things like PPTP or L2TP there(switching to ipoe or ppoe do helped to lot of their customers in last years, apparently).

+1
Fritzbox devices tunnel their guest account by l2tpv3.
