I love your application. It has proven to be one of the best and most versatile Gui-based management applications in my arsenal. There is, however, one request I would like to make. I have created several Network Maps based on various projects and locations. I would like the ability to manually sort these maps in the left pane in order to better organize them.
jharper i seems that u are one step further.. because when i create
a new map for a second network for example, it freezes there for ever saying loading…the first map created after installation works ok.
second, third map freezes…how to u manage to create several maps?
Regarding the maps freezing. Just create a submap in your original map and remove the leftover remnants [you will understand what I am saying].
This would be another nice thing to have.
Again, I came to the same conclusion on how not to get the infinite ‘Loading…’ map. Create a submap. However, this really wont work for all situations. I also found that if you add a new map and dont do anything to it, like give it a name or anything, it will start to work. Add a device or static just to put something on it. Then you can rename it and it seems to keep working after that. I suspect when the ‘Loading…’ problem is fixed, the maps will be able to be sorted. Probably another db issue.
This is the only SNMP capable application that took my version 2 txt MIB definition files and they all worked without any massaging. Its still magic (FM) how they actually start working after you put the files in the folder, but eventually they start working. How about a PKG file generator to import MIB files?
This application still blows away anything like it, so we just need to keep giving MT feedback so they can prioritize fixes. Then we can shutdown all the other ‘half-fast’ solutions running out there. There isnt a day that goes by that I dont figure out more capabilities that can be implemented, or figure out another Dude feature without any documentation.
