I have SwOS and RouterOS. I think Mikrotik is the most powerful L2 device, the technology leader. In SwOS I can make ACL rules for VLAN translation (most switches dont allow this) and newer RouterOS have now also full featured switch in bridge component. But my feature request:
Completely new GUI for VLAN-s with graphical topology map. There are shown all interfaces, with VLAN numbers, including PVID. You can add VLAN-s there. Now you click to some VLAN with mouse, hold down mouse button and drag it to some other interface. Now it puts line into right position between those two interfaces. When you release mouse button, it ask do you want to send it taged or untaged. Later you can change this also. The line includes also arrow, that tells te direction of VLAN (in case when you want to set ingress/egress independently). When there appears lots of lines, then by clicking to some vlan, it highlights the line with different color, so you see between what interfaces it is. Also example clicking to line, you can choose VLAN translation (example VLAN id 1 changed to VLAN id 2). So.
About “ingress filter” (in RouterOS). There is one problem with it right now. It influences both ingress and egress. Example when you set this filter, then ingress to be able to come in, related interface must be VLAN member. Downside is that then also egress can use this interface. This must be independent from egress.
