Maybe this issue is just on the Netpower CRS318-16P
But I can not get any form of storm control or loop protection to work. If I add a dumb switch and then loop the switch I can not do anything to get the port to shut down. STP does not apply to the situation I’m having. At events people often like to take a cable provided to them and add a dummy switch and what can happen sometimes is by accident they will loop the switch and crash the network. I’ve tried scripts that almost work but when the other switches detect the loops the scripts would then shut down the uplink port since that’s where the loops came from.
Loop protect does not work
1% storm control or limit broadcast does nothing as well.

RSTP should work in this setup as long as you are the “root”
does not.. the dummy switch doesnt send BPDU’s.. its a broadcast storm..
is there nothing that can be done.. ACL.. switch rule.. bridge filter rule.. disabling hardware offload to try and get it to work.. I mean ive tried all of these things.. but I still cant get the switch to not complete S*** itself whenever I test out the loop
