it would be nice if WinBox would has a proxy support (socks-proxy) to be able to connect to any external RB through a proxy server.
It would be nice if the Dude Client had proxy support as well, to be able to update itself when behind a proxy (and I guess to be able talk to servers behind a proxy).
Updating itself is my primary need though as at the moment I have to do it manually.
Tunneling WinBox through Permeo or SocksCap works, but an integrated proxy feature would be better!
Some SOCKS related request appears once a year or two in this forum, but never gets much attention. SOCKS is old and not much used. I think it can still be useful, plus it’s extremely simple, isn’t evolving anymore, so once implemented, there’s no need to keep up with changes, because there are none. But it really doesn’t seem to have enough fans anymore. So it probably won’t happen.
