Would anybody else be over the moon and prepared to pay a small licence fee if MT produced a lite version to run on UBNT Nanostations, As far as I know the only issue is the memory size of the NAND in Nanostations.
From my point of view, and I am sure many others, I have a few large networks constructed in the days that UBNT were the only people making cost effective CPE units, so the way was Ros AP UBNT CPE . Time moved on and Mikrotiks TDMA protocols have matured along with similar cost effective CPE units and now I am stuck with either blowing a fortune on replacing thousands of CPE’s or sticking with 80211
Before the UBNT Boys have a go, I am not Knocking UBNT software I just need TDMA, To swap My AP for a UBNT device would not be possible in my scenario.
I know the two camps will never be compatible with their TDMA protocols, It would not expect them to be either, that would not be a good business move for either side, However to produce a marketable product that would overcome the incompatibility in my mind would be good business sense.
What a wonderful world UBNT design with Mikrotik Power, be like MAC’s running windows oops that will get the thread smokin ![]()
