I request the possibility to set a MikroTik in modem passthrough mode for use with 3g and 4g.

Hardware example:
MikroTik RB411U
miniPCIe for 4G-3G-GSM

Scenario:
A customer with ADSL/Fiber and dynamic IP connected to corporate firewall with dyn-dns for VPN.
The internet connection goes down, repair time exceeding 1 day.

Resolution:
A MikroTik is connected as “modem” with the WAN IP handed to the corporate firewall.
Customer is back online and no changes are required in the systems.

To my knowledge, there is no device currently available that can do this.

This has been discussed here before in the forums. Search through the archives. If I recall correctly, there were some fancy NATting rules to make this work.

I have used every search term that I could think of, but I could not find it.
