fetch: file "dyndns.checkip.html" downloaded

Hi there.

Since I upgraded my RB2011s to 6.19 I can see in my log:

UpdateDynDNS: username = xxxxxx
UpdateDynDNS: hostname = xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
UpdateDynDNS: previousIP = xx.xx.xx.xx
fetch: file “dyndns.checkip.html” downloaded
UpdateDynDNS: currentIP = xx.xx.xx.xx
UpdateDynDNS: No dyndns update needed

This is a new entry which I did not see earlier.

I don’t know if this is good or bad.

Can someone explain this one to me?

Kind Regards

Bart

Seems you run some dynamic dns script. It should be intentional. This is not part of ros.

Yes, I run such script.

I was talking about BOLD entry:

fetch: file “dyndns.checkip.html” downloaded

I have not seen this entry before 6.19.

Probably other not documented change in ros…

fetch received minor changes (that you noticed) all downloads will be logged to info topic.

Thanks janisk. Simple as that.

Is there some way to stop this? I am using fetch for my dyndns script ( i am using a 3g connection behind carrier grade nat,), but sadly fetch floods my log every two minutes.

+1

I’m also need to stop this (maybe it some option in config for future releases?). Now a’m using ROS 6.23.

I prefer not seeing fetch event, every time it tries to download any file

It would be great if MikroTik team added another new topic for this “fetch: …” messages.
For example “info, files”.
So that anyone can edit theirs logging rules to suppress these annoying log messages from fetch tool.

Or else how can someone filter that out?

Exactly. I wonder why it is not configurable by this way.

You can use ip cloud for this purpose.

Ip cloud is not able to replace full-featured ddns service. Anyway, this topic is about logging, have you noticed that?
