Fiber Port Recomendations?

Growing and growing. We will soon be getting a new fiber connection at one of our towers. Our other fiber connection is using a router made by ImageStream with a built in fiber port. I don’t like that router and would prefer to keep this one mikrotik. What is everybody else doing? Media Converter? Non routerboard hardware with mikrotik software? We will be starting with a 300meg connection for about 1800 customers. It’ll need to be big enough to support BGP. Any recommendations on hardware?

Another approach is to VLAN trunk the radio connections to ground level on the fiber via something like the RB260GS, then have the router of choice at ground level.

Interesting. So I would bridge the fiber port with an Ethernet port and effectively have a media converter right? No routing whatsoever?
