I had file sharing working on XP by using \192.168.1.45 in windows explorer, but 7 can’t find the PC at that address. I can ping it from the netbook.
Any ideas what 7 has changed?
Windows 7 has, by default, much more network security than XP. Look in Network and Sharing center → homeground and sharing options. Also, check Windows 7 firewall.
