File transfer between two ports for network testing

Hello,

I am building a test network and would like to measure the bandwidth capacity between two wireless devices connected to a routerboard.

  • Wireess AP is connected to routerboard Port 1
  • Wireless Station is connected to routerboard Port 2

I would like to find out a way to transfer a file between two ports on my Mikrotik router so that I can find out the maximum capacity between Wireless AP and Wireless Station connected to Port1 and Port 2 respectively.

Of course, this is very easy to do by connecting a PC 1 to Wireless AP and a PC 2 to Wireless Station, then do an FTP.

I am trying to use the power of Mikrotik and do this without having to use a PC.

I’m believe that there should be a way to upload a large file (like 64 Meg) to my routerboard flash and then transfer it from routerboard Port 1 to routerboard Port 2 with some scripting?

Any thoughts from you guys?

Thanks,

Anyone out there have any ideas?? 18 views and no replies :frowning:
