Today I try to fine tune my Audience Wi-Fi speed, set the basic rate to 12mbps and 24mbps, AMSDU limit/threshold to 3839 (according to my Aruba AP’s default) and AMPDU Priorities to 0,1,2, my speed went up from 410mbps+ to 480mbps+, very happy for the result.
I think is AMSDU does it most. Recently I read a doc from Cisco regarding optimization for iOS devices, I made some changes according to it, and it really helps my Wi-Fi getting much better.
Use 12mbps and 24mbps both for basic rate, and enable 12mbps~54mbps for supported.
Avoid using channels UNII-3 band for Apple devices, if you have to use it, try to avoid 149,153.
Cisco highly recommends leaving all MCS (802.11n and 802.11ac) rates enabled.
Ensure to have at least -67dBm for both AP in the roaming point for better roam.
RF design and monitoring recommendation summary:
(A) Over all Channel Utilization should be less than 40%.
(B) A minimum Signal to Noise Ratio (SNR) of 25 dB.
(C) 802.11 retransmissions should be kept under 15%.
(D) Packet Loss should remain under 1 percent and jitter should be kept to less than 100 ms.
