It is possible to mark only internet traffic with firewall - mangle?

Do you mean traffic going from the LAN out through the WAN to the internet OR
Do you mean traffic coming from the internet through the WAN to the LAN??

What would be the end goal of Mangling such information in your case?

Yes, commonly used to route traffic back through the correct interface in a dual wan setup. Mark new incoming connections, then mark outgoing packets based on that.
