I have created NAT rule to redirect DNS queries passing through router to internal DNS server. As this router’s internal server serves both internal clients and external queries to hosted zones on our authoritative NS, it have to perform recursive search for internal clent but limit external queries only to those searching for records in hosted zones. So I filled content field with something like “third.party.domain” in separate redirect rule for external queries.
First it has been working fine. But then I faced “.” problem - redirect rule has stopped to match and the onli way to restore it is to replace “third.party.domain” with “third”. The same problem seen in firewall rule.
I have not found any limitations and guidelines to fill the content field in rules. Can anyone point me to related artlicles or guide me on this topic?
RouterOS version is 6.40.4, device is CCR1016-12G.
