Firmware and RouterOS upgrade failure RB532A

I got my routerboard 532A last Friday, on Sunday I tried to upgrade my Router OS from 2.9.35 to 2.9.42 which failed with "Formatting disk, ERROR: could not format partition, Press ENTER to reboot.

I then found that there was a new version of the firmware, my rb was at 2.6 and 2.7 is current, so I downloaded it and tried to update via Ethernet and Serial, and both give “invalid file id” after the download.

Emails to support have only said to go to http://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/RB500_BIOS_upgrade which offers a link to download firmware 1.11 which gives a 404 Not found.

All emails to support seem to be going to a black hole.

Anyone have a version of the firmware that I can load into my 532A to to make it actually function?

download LATEST firmware from http://www.routerboard.com and follow instructions OR trythis way:format your nand from rb settings and run netinstall

my 532a came with 2.8 boot on it - which I don’t see on the web. Is that a hidden feature : )
