I have found a free Wireguard provider with location in Riga. But it did not change anything on my curl results. Surprisingly.

I frequently have issues downloading the files.. Usually they don't fail/cancel but it does happen.. Usually just extremely slow.. Downloads at 15kb/s. Sometimes IPv6 might be fast while IPv4 is slow, sometimes they are both slow. Occasionally IPv4 is quick and maintains it for the whole 16MB download, but that is rare.

No. Happening to us on a dedicated 1 gbps connection (shared with our BGP router).
Try to do this latest urgent security update and from Australia at least updates using Winbox are very slow with moments of speed bursts with disconnections not unusual. It's been like this for a while but a year ago it was never like this. I am on a 500Mbit connection.
Its also useful to mention where your downloading from.

Right now I wouldn't put too much faith in the results. The server is probably getting a flogging since Mikrotik just sent an email warning about the current security vulnerability.
I'm seeing slow downloads here. About ~16-50 kilobytes per second. Not a big deal for me, but it's an issue.
Updates applied to about 125 devices yesterday.
Most 7.23.5, lab equipment and ARM-AC to 7.25b3 ( about 200kb gained, yeah !!)
Never saw time going past 2 minutes, usually less then 1.

Even 1 million hits to download firmware at 20MB each would only take a couple days on a single 1gbps connection.
The server is slow more often than it isn't. There is something wrong somewhere.
I'm aware, hence why I've said as much if you bothered to read the thread.
I'm was pointing out that yesterday they had just sent an email about the vulnerabilities which would get a fair few more devices trying to pull updates out of it.
