Firmware Upgrade Effect On CPU Usage

Hi

I know there is some bug fix and new features on new MikroTik firmwares. I just want to know does firmware upgrade have any effect on CPU usage?
I have a PPC 1200 and the CPU usage in 70% in average. I hope to decrease the CPU usage by upgrading the firmware.

Only might be true with major release when they change Linux Kernel version - so v5.x to v6.x for example.
