Firmware version

Hello,

I have two SXT 5HPnD to connect two remote sites, they work great, but the available firmware version is different:

Why is that? Both have same packages versions.

Thanks and regards.

At some point, did you have an RC installed? Maybe you downgraded the RouterOS before updating the firmware.

Hello, I don’t know. I buy it to other person, maybe he could install RC.

Which is the stable firmware for this devices? Could I update it manually?

Best regards.

Which RouterOS version is on each SXT?

Hello

6.37.3 in both.

Regards.

Maybe it has something to do with multiple hardware revisions of the SXT 5HPnD.

For example (i’m just thinking, i’ve no info about that) :
You got one unit with r2 and the other one with r3. And each revision has a specific firmware, and each firmware has its own versions.

No idea about that, actually both have same versions.

They work well, but I prefer to have same firnware.

Hope someone could explain it.

Regards.

Try installing the latest 6.38RC41 and then upgrade the firmware in both to 3.33

Thanks for the reply.

I use the devices in active link and I have no easy access to them.

I prefer to not break it. Could I update and mantain same configuration?

Best regards.

The OS and firmware updates do not effect the configuration. Each unit should take about 45 seconds of downtime to update.

I got it!

In the “Files” sectian I have an old firmware file, so I upload the new one:

Then reboot and now it is in the last firmware.

Thanks for your help.

Regards.

99.9% chance that the firmware will make no difference in your SXT units. Only rarely there is something that makes it worth upgrading.

RouterOS updates are much more important.

Great!

I want to have both SXT with same firmware versions.

Regards.
