First time setup -- DHCP not working

Am trying to setup my new RB750 for the first time, and am having no luck at all getting an IP address via DHCP. My current configuration is very basic: DSL modem – Netgear Wireless N Router – Desktop (Linux OS). Under this configuration I have no problem getting an IP address, and connecting to the Internet. My plan was to swap the Netgear for my new RB750, however when I swap it in, my desktop cannot connect. I was able to assign myself a static IP and then browse to the webfig interface at 192.168.88.1, and I completed all the basic configuration steps in the RouterOS manual/wikis, but still no connection. When I swap my Netgear wireless router back in, everything works fine.

Any suggestions? I’ve thought about reloading RouterOS onto the RB750… is there a way to do that?

Thanks in advance
Kj

Is the upstream gear configured to only talk to the specific MAC address of the old router? I ran into this swapping out an old LinkSys router (which was already spoofing the address of an even earlier D-Link device) and it’s pretty common practice for ISPs. Typically you either have to call the ISP or tell the WAN port to spoof the other MAC address. This is under /interface ethernet in the menus.
