I’m considering upgrading from Huawei ME909s-120 to R11eL-FG621. But does it fit? Do I need to modify the heat sink next to the mPCIe slot? I would go with the previous model R11e-LTE6, but it is has been discontinued.
I took images of both and put them together. It seems that either I need to remove a bit of the heat sink, or move the heat sink a bit to make room for the module. But what worries me is components around the area that will be covered - mostly the small SMD inductor in the area.There may or may not be enough space for the module to sit nicely over it…
