'flash' takes all available CPU with The Dude on RB751

I installed The Dude 4.0b3 on a RB751 running 5.7. This is to do some simple ping tests to some servers on the internet. Immediately after the reboot which enabled the Dude (before it had any configuration), I see:

/tool profile
NAME CPU USAGE
wireless all 0%
ethernet all 0.5%
console all 0.5%
flash all 95%
ssh all 0.5%
firewall all 0%
winbox all 0%
dude all 1%
management all 1.5%
dhcp all 0%
profiling all 1%
queuing all 0%
bridging all 0%
unclassified all 0%

So ‘flash’ is taking all available CPU. This began as soon as I did the initial reboot of the routerboard and before I did any actual configuration from within The Dude. Anyone else with similar issues?

i will not install the dude on RB75X series. lack of space, and RAM.

also, the dude 4.0b3 is buggy, it crashes a lot, i used to use it on my x86 ROS. i replaced it back to v3.6, and it is not crashing anymore.

I moved to Dude 3.6 and it’s been fine. The ‘flash’ and ‘dude’ processes go up when you do any type of network scan, but with a few hosts added doing ping and http checks, as well as showing interface speeds it’s totally fine.

One additional comment. I have 4.0b3 running fine on an RB450 (non-G) which also has 32mb RAM. This device does not experience issues like the RB751 does.

make a supout.rif file at the moment when “flash” is acting up, and send to support.
