FOR UAV AIRPLANES NEED VIDEO TRANSMISSION EQUIPMENTS

Hi Everyone.

First of all sorry for my English.

I have a Radio controlled Airplane shop. We are using analog Audio and Video transmitters and receivers for flying online. We are using also 550 TVL cameras (720576 pixels) on the Airplanes. We watching the flying videos on notebook via Video capture card or LCD video glasses as live. Our systems have limit as 720576 pixels. I have few questions for your digital systems. If you can help to newbie, I will be happy so much. My questions :

  1. 1280*720 pixels IP Camera + routherboard + wireless card on the airplanes AND routherboard + wireless card + notebook are enough for to watch live video? Do I need and other equipments? (We have many type antennas)

  2. Is it possible to get continued 1280*720 pixels 25fps live video?

  3. Can I find uncased IP Camera module from somewhere for easy aplication on the airplanes? (Light weight better for us)

  4. Can we use wireless bridge far from city? (Without internet connection)

Sorry for newbie questions but I have no any idea about wireless bridges?

First, you should probably try some kind of wireless analog system with omni antennas on UAV and receiver because that kind of sistems are in use for long time and they are “mature product”.
Also, i think there are some digital systems on the market for wireless video streaming (not sure about size, weight nor effective range).
If you really want to try this with Mikrotik on wlan side you should start with some portable omni antennas @5GHz (primarily because of its smaller size compared to those @ 2.4GHz). RB411 with R52n cards on both sides will probably be the best choice for this experiment (cheap, enough cpu power, relatively small dimensions, can work in bridge mode).
In both case don’t expect it to work without clear line of sight or on large distances (probably under 1000m because of small antenna gain).

find out how much kilobits your stream needs. I think you need 500-1000kbits. Should be possible with routerboard if you don’t lose connection

How many power provide your airplane? What is airplane bearing capacity? Most 5GHz omni antenna have narrow E-Plane beam width. I think more suitable is 900MHz or 2,4GHz band.

Hi Normis.

Which Routherboard and wireless card are suitable for 1280*720 25fps video connection?
RB411? or RB433UAH? (CPU speed and RAM are important for data connection speed? or RB411 enough for me?)

I want to use 5.8gHz wireless cards. But 2.4gHz can be.
Our airplanes has 3 meters wingspan and can carry about 3 kg weight.
