Force-backup-booter - what is it?

Hi,
What for is used force-backup-booter option in routerboard devices?

RouterBOARD devices have two RouterBOOT copies (something like a BIOS). If for some reason your device is not working properly, you can boot by holding the reset button - this will load the backup loader. If this works, and primary bootloader doesn’t work, you can just make the backup loader as your primary one.

Ok, thank you. Yet one questions. Many devices gaven’t got serial console via COM port, eg. rb751u*.
When I set boot order, only at ethernet. How can I change it to? Is it only possible to recover boot from nand, use netinstall?

Hello!

I know this is a pretty old thread, but I’m having a relevant problem.

I just bought a RB2011UiAS-2HnD-IN and i have a problem. Router would get stuck with MikroTik on LCD screen and no activity. If i use backup bootloader (RESET BUTTON), it boots. What is there to do apart from using force use of backup bootloader. Can bootloader be somehow fixed? At first, it booted just ok, but when i rebooted the router, it got stuck everytime.

Thanks for your support and have a great day.

Edit1:
Updating RouterBoard BIOS to 3.14 migitated the problem! Now i’m onto others ))

I have the same problem with a RB3011 after upload the latest RouterOs
The router freese and that is all what i see in console
