Forum credentials reset

I registered on these forums a while ago and managed to loose my credentials, especially the forum user name.

So I ran the “forgot my password” dialog (which involves my e-mail-address) and got a password reset link, which worked.

However, I still have no clue about my old user name, which is required to log in, so I was still stuck.

The login page then suggested to contact a board admin in case of unsolvable trouble. However, the link was disabled.

In the end I had to re-register under a different mail address and I still don’t know my old user name.

Bottom line: That “forgot my password” thingy leaves room for improvement :slight_smile:

If you have not used the forum, so why can’t you just use the new username? What is the benefit of finding out your old inactive user? Forum deletes inactive users after a while, if they have no posts.
