I’m wondering if it is harmful or not to change frequencies frequently without disabling wireless interface. Let’s say to tune frequencies to get best possible results. I do believe I’ve broken a couple of R5H’s with such behavior, i mean changing operating frequency just by changing it in winbox and applying settings, without disabling wifi nic at first and then enabling it when changes are done. After some time transmitters on wireless nic’s lost their power, they can receive other wireless networks (while scanning), but can’t be seen when they’re working as AP’s.
Considering the client scan changes frequencies without issue, and will swap from sector to sector on one of my towers (couple of close customers), and the 5.4 band requires automatic channel changing, and my laptop hasn’t burned up yet… I don’t think thats causing your problems.
I think may not you cause the issue…
We does have some unit R5H burned itself without any reason few month ago…
I think may be that batch R5h have certain factory defect issue.
After than that, so far we facing no problem with the R5H.
